Whisper Zoom methods

Our specialized methods on the Evosep Eno supports a wide range of mass spectrometry sources. See the overview in this section.

Bruker CaptiveSpray

The Evosep One is compatible with the Bruker CaptiveSpray, CaptiveSpray 2, and CaptiveSpray Ultra ion sources, when equipped with a Column Toaster. Whisper Zoom methods use IonOpticks Aurora® columns with integrated pulled emitters, which connect directly to the CaptiveSpray source, and are temperature-controlled using the Bruker Column Toaster.

The Whisper Zoom 20 SPD and 40 SPD methods both use the Aurora® Elite™ 15 cm × 75 µm, 1.7 µm column (IonOpticks PN: AUR4-150150C18-CSI).

The Whisper Zoom 80 SPD and 120 SPD methods both use the Aurora® Rapid™ 5 cm × 75 µm, 1.7 µm column (IonOpticks PN: AUR4-5075C18-CSI).

Thermo EASY-Spray

For Whisper Zoom methods, IonOpticks Aurora® columns with integrated pulled emitters are used together with the Thermo Scientific™ EASY-Spray™ ionization source. These columns are temperature-controlled using the IonOpticks HeatSync™ column heater.

The Whisper Zoom 20 SPD 40 SPD methods both use the  Aurora® Elite™ 15 cm × 75 µm, 1.7 µm column (IonOpticks PN: AUR4-150150C18).

The Whisper Zoom 80 SPD and 120 SPD methods both use the Aurora® Rapid™ 5 cm × 75 µm, 1.7 µm column (IonOpticks PN: AUR4-5075C18).

The IonOpticks HeatSync™ column heater is required for all Whisper Zoom configurations, and when using the 5 cm Aurora® Rapid™ columns for Whisper Zoom 80 SPD or 120 SPD, the dedicated HeatSync™ 5 cm column housing is additionally required.

Thermo Nanospray Flex

For Whisper Zoom methods, IonOpticks Aurora® columns with integrated pulled emitters are used together with the Thermo Scientific™ Nanospray Flex™ ionization source. The columns are positioned in a nanospray holder on the ionization source.

The Whisper Zoom 20 SPD and 40 SPD methods both use the Aurora® Elite™ 15 cm × 75 µm, 1.7 µm column (IonOpticks PN: AUR4-150150C18).
